All Classes are FREE to Rufus Racing Team Members (class shirt can be bought for an additional fee) Join the team today! Only $50/year
Class includes a 7-day workout plan for duration of training, group instruction, and workouts during class. Everyone will enjoy a group with similar abilities, opportunities for individual coaching, workshops, and the excitement of accomplishing a goal.
- Registration is due 1 weeks before start date. Otherwise there is a $10 late fee.
- Classes meet once a week at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Joplin
- All Classes are designed with cross-training to prevent injury.
- On-line registration is available with no additional processing fees
What do I get for my Fees?
- Small Groups that will make all the difference on those long runs
- Time and effort based training schedules.
- Sports Drink and water every two miles on the long runs for half and full marathon trainings
- Group discussions on injury prevention, running form, preparing to race and racing, shoes, apparel, pacing, nutrition and more.
- Runner in training technical t-shirt ( RR team members can purchase this for an additional cost)

- Fees do not cover race entry fees

Boomtown Half Marathon Class - Spring
The Half Marathon Training Program is a 10-week program designed to train you for the Boomtown half marathon on June 12, 2010. This effort-based program will help you complete your first half marathon and/or improve your time. To take this class you should be comfortable walking/running 3 miles. Discussion topics include injury prevention, stretching, form, cross training, racing, shoes, apparel and much more Meets on Saturday @ 8:30 AM. Speed Building Class
The goal of this class is to make you faster! Improve your 5k or 10k time. You must have a running base of 6-10 miles a week and be able to run 3 miles without stopping to get the most benefit from this class. A lot of track work, hills, sprints, stairs, etc. Be prepared to work hard! Class will meet at Academy Sports + Outdoors and a local track.
Marathon & Half Marathon Classes - FALL
The Marathon Training Program is a 18 week class and the Half Class is 10 weeks. You are highly encouraged to develop a 6-10 mile a week base (for the marathon) before starting this program, and should be able to run/walk 6 miles comfortably. The goal of this program is for you to finish a full marathon or half and/or improve your time. Class will meet at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Joplin.
GET READY for CLASS DAY
The Saturday ( April 3, June 5, and July 31st) before class starts come to Academy Sports + Outdoors to get your gear, apparel, and gels/bars for class.
Distance Description
5k - 3.1 miles, Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, Full Marathon - 26.2 miles
